19 of Medvedev's 21 titles have been earned on hard surfaces

A resurgent Daniil Medvedev secured his first title for nearly 30 months with a win over opponent Moutet in the competition title decider.

The athlete, a ex- world number one, has experienced a challenging period, winning just a single victory at the big events and suffering a difficult moment at the New York tournament.

Medvedev's unpredictability on the tennis tour - and issues with his serving in specific - caused him dropping out of the top ten and finally separating with long-time mentor his previous coach.

Currently collaborating with Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, Medvedev has gradually advanced in the recent weeks - culminating in a closely contested three-set triumph over challenger Moutet.

This marks the player's initial trophy following the Rome competition and maiden on a hard surface from March of that year.

The win also means Medvedev has won 21 victories at twenty-one distinct tournaments.

"It's the first time I'm at a competition with my both daughters together, so to get a championship is especially meaningful," said tennis professional Medvedev.

"This title is in dedication of my child her name, because the maiden victory I won when my child my daughter was born was for her."

The tennis star, the 2021 US Open champion, had been defeated in his last six finals, comprising in that event earlier this year.

The player's retrieving strategy and recurring emotional displays on court had caused some to wonder if his ability to compete at the highest level was over.

But the player has altered his approach in the last few weeks, making an effort to advance forward and play positively, supported by an enhanced service.

He recovered from a deficit in the opening set against the tricky Moutet, taking four of the final five games to gain the advantage.

The competitors exchanged service breaks in the middle set before Moutet, striving for his first ATP Tour title, took control to force a final set.

Moutet saved four early opportunities in a close final set before Medvedev secured a break to that score to close out the victory.

Appropriately, the winner earned the win with a rally at the net area, with the Frenchman unable to manage a shot after over two and a half hours.
