A 24-year-old man, was taken into custody in Lambeth on suspicion of theft and assault and a woman, 23 was arrested for suspected conspiring to commit a robbery. Both individuals remain in custody, authorities confirmed.

These detentions follow a probe into an assault at the multi-level parking garage at Terminal 3 on Sunday. Prior to the attack, a pair of female travelers had stolen from them their suitcases upon exiting a parking garage elevator.

A three-year-old girl was one of the those hurt during the incident. A total of five individuals were taken to the hospital for medical care and have since been released.

Officers arrested a 31-year-old man on suspicion of theft and assault close to the location. He has since been released under investigation while inquiries continue.

Authorities were alerted at approximately 08:10 GMT after reports came in regarding several individuals hurt by an irritating chemical believed to be an irritant spray.

The attack - an event that authorities stated was isolated and not being treated as an act of terror - caused train delays and the partial closure of the main airport tunnel and the Terminal 3 parking facility for a short time.
